I have a busy summer schedule, yes it does involve a lot of traveling but not to places like Nashville to go tour around, but to go drag racing. I’m not your average girl is what I have been told several times. I enjoy being around load engines and the smell of nitrous in the air. I’m typically on the road to a different race track each weekend Friday-Sunday’s.
I got started racing my moms street car, probably think it’s a slow car to be racing since its meant for the streets right? Hell no. This Ford Taurus SHO has twin turbos with a tune inside of it! In the quarter mile were going about 100 mph. CRAZY. I now race my own 92 Ford Ranger with a small block Ford 363 Dart engine. All about going fast.
I got started racing because I grew up watching my dad take part in this sport and have always loved being at the racetrack, the people, and overall the atmosphere. Once I arrive to the track it’s as if all my worries just go away for those three days I am there. It gives such an adrenaline rush and I have never loved something so much as I do when it comes to getting ready to go to the race track. (Besides family, but that is kind of a given.)
One day I would really like to make drag racing my job if we’re all being honest here, it is a possibility to do so with the types of big money races they have out there now. And why not have a job you love and have a passion to do so correct? I know I’m right on this. Nobody wants that boring 8-5 job.
For Christmas gifts for the most part I receive race car parts, and I get so excited for those new headers, valve covers, cam shafts, crank triggers, digital dial in board, etc. I could go on and on with all of the gifts I have received that were car related throughout the past several years. How many girls out there can you say would get excited for car parts? Theirs quite a few of us but we’re a different breed.
Even on those race days ya girl still has a coffee in her hand even if we have to drive 20 minutes to go get one. I’m not kidding when I say theirs a coffee in our hand almost daily, sometimes even twice a day. Need that energy sometimes to keep up!
Talk soon loves!
xoxo
